Fixture Mode / Personality

A Fixture Mode, also called a Personality, defines how the fixture’s DMX channels are mapped to its functions.

The same physical fixture can provide several personalities.

A simpler personality may expose only the most commonly used controls, while a larger personality may provide access to:

  • Fine movement
  • Additional colour systems
  • Gobos
  • Optical effects
  • Pixels
  • Patterns
  • Framing
  • Fixture-specific functions

TRP also includes compact Theatrical personalities on many fixtures.

These are intended for simpler control through the TRP/Theatrical environment, while the larger model-specific personalities expose substantially more of the fixture’s implementation.

Always check the individual fixture documentation before patching it.
