Initial Configuration

After installing NeonFX for the first time, there are a few things you should check before allowing players or builders to start using it.

1. Open the NeonFX configuration

The main configuration file is located at:

plugins/NeonFX/config.yml

NeonFX creates this file automatically on the first server startup.

You do not need to change every option before using NeonFX.

Start with the settings that affect your server setup and leave the rest at their default values unless you specifically need to change them.

2. Configure the Resource Pack

If you want NeonFX to automatically send its resource pack to players, configure:

resource-pack:
  enabled: true
  public-url: 'YOUR_RESOURCE_PACK_URL'

The resource pack must be reachable by players through an HTTP or HTTPS URL.

The complete setup is explained in:

Server Setup & Administration → Resource Pack

You can verify the current resource pack configuration with:

/neonfx debug resourcepack

This shows information such as the generated pack, SHA-1, delivery URL and embedded HTTP server status.

3. Configure Permissions

Server operators with:

neonfx.admin

have access to the complete NeonFX administrative surface.

For other users, you can assign more specific permissions depending on what they should be allowed to do.

The complete permission list is available in:

Commands & Reference → Permissions Reference

4. Open the NeonFX GUI

Join the server and run:

/neonfx gui

This opens the main NeonFX interface and confirms that the plugin is ready for normal use.

5. Premium License

A Premium license is not required to use the core NeonFX features.

If your server has a NeonFX Premium license, it can be managed using the license commands available in NeonFX. Premium features are checked separately from Bukkit permissions.

The complete Premium setup is explained later in:

Server Setup & Administration → Premium Licensing

Once these basic settings are ready, you can create your first Drawing.
