Creating Your First Drawing
This guide shows the basic workflow for creating and saving your first NeonFX Drawing.
1. Open NeonFX
Run:
/neonfx gui
Then select Create.
You can also start directly with:
/neonfx create [name]
NeonFX supports optional profile and path-type arguments, but you do not need them for your first Drawing.
2. Choose a name
Enter a name for your new Drawing.
This name is used to identify the Drawing later when editing, controlling or managing it.
3. Use the NeonFX Pen
When the editor starts, NeonFX gives you the NeonFX Pen.
Look at the position where you want the Drawing to begin and right-click on empty space.
This creates the first node.
Right-click again somewhere else to add another node.
NeonFX shows a live preview between the last node and your crosshair while you are creating the path.
4. Continue the path
Keep adding nodes until your Tube has the shape you want.
For your first Drawing, it is usually easiest to start with a simple straight or slightly angled shape.
Curves, handles, layers and more advanced editing tools are explained separately in the Visual Editor section.
5. Save the Drawing
When you are happy with the result, save the edit session from the editor GUI or run:
/neonfx save
Saving commits the working copy as the final Drawing.
If you cancel instead, the current working changes are not committed.
6. Your Drawing is ready
Once saved, the Drawing becomes part of the server’s NeonFX data and can be edited or controlled later.
You can reopen it with:
/neonfx edit <drawing>
Your first Drawing is now complete.
