What is a Tube?

A Tube is an individual continuous neon path inside a Drawing.

A Drawing can contain one Tube or several Tubes depending on the design.

How a Tube is built

Each Tube follows a path defined by nodes.

Those nodes determine where the Tube starts, where it goes and how its shape changes.

A Tube can contain:

  • Straight sections
  • Angled sections
  • Curved sections

Curves are controlled using Bézier handles.

Tube profile

Each Tube also has a profile that defines its cross-section.

NeonFX currently supports:

  • ROUND
  • SQUARE

The profile changes the shape of the rendered Tube without changing the path itself.

Tubes belong to a Drawing

A Tube is always part of a Drawing.

The Drawing acts as the main container, while each Tube represents one continuous part of the design.

This is useful for creating complex shapes made from several separate neon lines.

The following articles explain how to create, modify and manage Tubes individually.
