Recovery Files

NeonFX uses recovery files to protect unfinished edit sessions.

If an editing session ends unexpectedly, the current working copy can be stored separately so it can be resumed later.

Where Recovery Files Are Stored

Recovery data is kept inside:

plugins/NeonFX/recovery/

This folder is created automatically by NeonFX during the initial setup.

List Available Recovery Files

Use:

/neonfx recovery list

This shows the unfinished sessions currently available for recovery.

Recovery Does Not Replace the Drawing

A recovery file contains the unfinished working copy.

The live saved Drawing remains unchanged until the recovered session is resumed and later saved normally.

Available Actions

A recovery file can be:

  • Resumed
  • Discarded

Resuming opens the saved working copy again.

Discarding removes only the recovery file and does not delete the live Drawing.

The next article explains how to resume one of these sessions.
