Cancelling an Edit Session

Cancelling an edit session closes the current working copy without applying its changes to the saved Drawing.

Cancel the Session

Use:

/neonfx cancel

You can also cancel from the editor GUI.

What Happens When You Cancel

NeonFX does not commit the current working copy.

The previously saved Drawing remains unchanged.

When to Cancel

Cancel the session when:

  • You do not want to keep the current changes
  • The edit did not turn out as expected
  • You opened the wrong Drawing
  • You want to return to the last saved version

Cancel vs Undo

Undo reverses individual supported actions while keeping the edit session open.

Cancel discards the current working copy instead of continuing the session.

Interrupted Sessions

Cancelling normally is different from an unexpected interruption.

If an edit session is interrupted, NeonFX may create a recovery file instead.

Recovery is explained separately in the following articles.
