What is NeonFX?

NeonFX is a Paper plugin for creating custom 3D neon and LED-style designs directly inside Minecraft.
Instead of placing individual blocks, NeonFX lets you draw continuous tubes that can follow straight lines, curves, walls, signs, decorations, logos, and many other shapes.
NeonFX includes a visual in-game editor where you can create and modify your designs without needing external modelling software.
How NeonFX works
NeonFX designs are built using a few simple concepts:
- Drawings contain your complete neon design.
- Tubes are the individual continuous lines inside a Drawing.
- Nodes define the path of each Tube.
- Bezier Handles allow you to create smooth curves.
- Profiles control the shape of the Tube, such as ROUND or SQUARE.
You can also customize properties such as color, thickness, brightness, layers, render quality, and visual effects.
Designed for Minecraft servers
NeonFX runs on the server and uses Minecraft Display entities to render its designs.
Players do not need to install a client-side mod.
A NeonFX resource pack provides the custom models used by the renderer. If the resource pack cannot be loaded, NeonFX can continue using its fallback rendering system.
More than simple neon lines
NeonFX also includes tools for organizing and reusing your creations, including:
- Groups
- Reusable Library designs
- Multiple Tubes inside a Drawing
- Effects
- SVG importing
- Editing recovery
- Server permissions
- A Java API for other plugins
Some advanced features require NeonFX Premium.
The rest of this wiki explains each part of NeonFX separately, starting with installation and your first Drawing.
