Understanding Editor Positioning
Positioning in the NeonFX editor determines where nodes, handles and Tube geometry are placed in the world.
The editor combines direct crosshair placement with layer controls and movement tools.
Crosshair Positioning
When you create or move geometry, NeonFX uses the position you are aiming at with your crosshair.
This is how new nodes are placed and how selected nodes or handles are repositioned.
Relative Layers
NeonFX also uses a relative layer offset while editing.
Changing your selected hotbar slot changes the current layer offset.
This helps when parts of a design need to sit at different depths.
Moving Existing Geometry
Nodes and handles can be repositioned after they have been created.
Select the object, hold Shift, left-click it, and move your crosshair while keeping Shift held.
Release Shift or left-click again to confirm the new position.
Fine Positioning
The editor command set also includes a nudge control for finer positioning adjustments.
The exact nudge values and behavior are not described in the current source documentation, so those details should be documented separately once they are confirmed in the public build.
