Changing Layers

NeonFX lets you change the active layer while editing a Drawing.

The layer controls the relative depth offset used by the editor.

Change the Active Layer

While editing, change your selected hotbar slot.

NeonFX uses hotbar slot changes to adjust the current relative layer offset.

What Changes

Changing the layer does not create a new Drawing or Tube.

It only changes the relative positioning used while you continue editing the current design.

When to Change Layers

Layers are useful when:

  • Two parts of a design overlap
  • One section should sit slightly in front of another
  • You are building a multi-depth sign
  • Different parts need clearer visual separation

Layer Command

The editor command set also includes a layer control:

/neonfx editor layer

The current source documentation confirms that this control exists, but it does not define its exact arguments or values.
