Working with Depth

NeonFX layers help you place parts of a design at different relative depths.

This is useful when several elements would otherwise occupy almost the same position.

Use the Active Layer

While editing, change your selected hotbar slot to adjust the current relative layer offset.

The new offset is then used while you continue positioning geometry.

Why Depth Matters

Depth can help when:

  • Two Tube sections overlap
  • One part of a sign should sit slightly in front of another
  • Several decorative elements need separation
  • A design uses more than one visual plane

Keep the Same Drawing

Using a different layer does not create a new Drawing.

It only changes the relative placement used by the editor.

Combine Depth with Manual Positioning

Layers are useful for larger relative offsets, while nodes and handles can still be moved manually with the crosshair.

For more detailed positioning, NeonFX also provides a nudge control in the editor command set.
