How NeonFX Rendering Works
NeonFX renders its designs using Minecraft Display entities.
The Tube path, direction, profile and thickness are applied through transformations instead of creating a separate model for every Tube segment.
Reusable Models
NeonFX uses reusable models for its Tube profiles:
ROUNDSQUARE
These models are transformed in-game to match the final Tube geometry.
Editor Rendering
The visual editor also uses Display entities for things such as:
- The current path
- The provisional segment to the crosshair
- Node markers
- Handle guides
This allows the editor to show the design while it is being created or modified.
Resource Pack
The NeonFX resource pack provides the custom models used by the normal renderer.
The pack is generated for the Minecraft version targeted by the installed NeonFX build.
Fallback Rendering
If the resource pack cannot be delivered or a player declines it, NeonFX does not stop working.
The plugin keeps the Display entities and uses its fallback renderer instead.
