Layer Offset
The layer offset controls the relative layer used while editing a Drawing.
It lets NeonFX place geometry at a different relative depth without changing the overall Drawing structure.
Relative Offset
Layers in NeonFX work as a relative offset.
This means you are not creating a separate Drawing or Tube when changing layers.
You are changing the offset used by the active editor session.
Changing the Offset
The current layer offset can be adjusted by changing your selected hotbar slot while editing.
NeonFX also provides an editor layer control through its editor commands.
Why the Offset Matters
Using different layer offsets can help when parts of a design need to sit at different depths.
This is especially useful for:
- Overlapping shapes
- Multi-depth signs
- Decorative elements
- Complex designs with several visual planes
The layer offset only changes positioning behavior inside the editor. It does not create a new Drawing.
