Creating Sharp Transitions

NeonFX does not automatically smooth nodes or Bézier handles.

This makes it possible to keep sharp changes in direction instead of forcing every section into a smooth curve.

Keep the Node Straight

If you want a sharp corner, leave the node’s handles in their default position.

The path remains straight until a visible handle is moved.

Mix Straight and Curved Sides

You can also curve only one side of a node.

For example:

  • Keep the incoming section straight
  • Adjust the OUT handle to curve the outgoing section

or do the opposite.

Adjust Manually

Because NeonFX does not automatically smooth handles, you control exactly how abrupt or soft the transition should be.

Use the live editor preview while adjusting the node and its handles.

When to Use Sharp Transitions

Sharp transitions are useful for:

  • Geometric designs
  • Lettering
  • Corners
  • Angular logos
  • LED-style shapes
