Understanding Curve Control

Curves in NeonFX are controlled manually using Bézier handles.

NeonFX does not automatically smooth or reshape a node. A section remains straight until one of its visible handles is moved.

How Curve Control Works

Each node can expose two handles:

  • IN
  • OUT

These handles control the shape of the Tube on each side of the node.

Moving a Handle

Moving a handle changes the curve without moving the node itself.

This lets you adjust the shape of the path while keeping the node anchored in the same position.

Manual Editing

Curve editing is intentionally manual.

This gives you direct control over:

  • Curve direction
  • Curve width
  • Entry angle
  • Exit angle
  • Asymmetric shapes

Combine Different Shapes

The same Tube can contain:

  • Straight sections
  • Smooth curves
  • Sharp transitions
  • Different curve shapes on each side of a node

The following articles explain how the IN and OUT handles affect the path individually.
