How Can We Help?
Fixture Numbering
TRP also supports fixture numbers independently from DMX addresses.
Fixture numbers are useful for:
- Identifying fixtures
- Organising the patch
- Searching
- Sorting
- Exporting patch lists
- Matching console or production documentation

When multiple selected fixtures are assigned fixture numbers, TRP can number them sequentially.
The Patch Tool also searches for the next free recommended fixture number rather than blindly reusing an existing assignment.
Suggested Fixture Number Ranges
TRP includes suggested fixture-number ranges based on fixture type.
| Range | Suggested Use |
|---|---|
| 101 Series | Profile, Spot and Beam Fixtures |
| 201 Series | Wash and Pixel Fixtures |
| 301 Series | Strobe, Effect and WTF! Fixtures |
| 401 Series | Disco / Motor Devices |
| 501 Series | Other / Fallback Devices |
These ranges are recommendations rather than DMX addresses.
For example:
Fixture 101
could still be patched to:
Universe 3 / Address 241
Fixture number and DMX address are completely separate concepts.
