Profile vs Thickness

Profile and thickness both affect how a Tube looks, but they control different things.

Profile

The profile controls the Tube’s cross-section shape.

NeonFX currently supports:

• ROUND
• SQUARE

Changing the profile changes the shape of the Tube without changing its path.

Thickness

The thickness controls the size or diameter of the Tube.

NeonFX applies the Tube diameter through display transformations, independently from the selected profile.

Example

Two Tubes can use the same ROUND profile while having different thickness values.

Likewise, a ROUND Tube and a SQUARE Tube can use the same thickness while still looking different because their cross-section shapes are different.

Think of it like this

• Profile = Shape
• Thickness = Size

Both can be changed independently.
