How Can We Help?
Avoiding Address Overlap
Two fixtures can technically be assigned overlapping DMX addresses, but this means they will respond to some of the same control data.
For normal independent operation, fixtures should be patched so that their footprints do not overlap.
Example:
A 39-channel fixture at:
Address 1
uses:
1–39
The next independent fixture should therefore begin at:
Address 40
TRP’s Auto Address functionality can calculate this automatically when working with multiple selected fixtures.
It uses each fixture’s current personality footprint and continues into the next universe when the next fixture would exceed DMX address 512.
