Downgrading TRP

Downgrading to an older TRP version is not supported as a guaranteed-safe operation.

A newer version may introduce:

  • New saved data
  • New configuration entries
  • New fixture states
  • Updated DMX profiles
  • Changes to internal data formats
  • New blocks, items or systems

Older versions may not understand this data correctly.

Attempting to downgrade can result in:

  • Broken fixtures
  • Missing data
  • Incorrect patch information
  • Missing blocks or items
  • World errors
  • World corruption

For this reason:

Do not downgrade an important world without a complete backup.

If you need to return to an older version, restoring a backup created before the update is the safest option.
