Existing Fixtures and Patch Data

Updating TRP should normally preserve fixtures already placed in your world.

This includes saved information such as:

  • Fixture configuration
  • Theatrical network
  • DMX universe
  • DMX address
  • Fixture mode
  • Fixture number
  • Installed custom gobos
  • Other fixture-specific persistent data

However, updates that modify a fixture’s DMX personality, channel footprint or implementation may affect an existing patch.

For example, if a fixture mode changes from one channel layout to another, previously patched fixtures may need to be checked and repatched.

After any major update, it is a good idea to verify:

  • Fixture modes
  • DMX addresses
  • Universe assignments
  • External console patches
  • Custom fixture configurations
