CUETE

The ROBE CUETE is a compact moving beam and effect fixture implemented in Theatrical: Realistic Pack (TRP).

Its TRP implementation combines colour control, fixed and rotating gobos, projected patterns, prism, frost, zoom, focus, dimmer, strobe and smooth movement controls in a compact effect fixture.

CUETE supports TRP’s Focus Tool and Custom Gobo Service system, but is not currently integrated with RoboSpot, FollowMe or a dedicated flight-case family.

DMX Modes

The CUETE currently includes the following TRP personalities:

ModeChannels
Mode 129
Theatrical7
Theatrical Gobos10

Mode 1 is the default personality in the reviewed implementation.

The selected personality determines both the available fixture controls and the total DMX footprint.

For example, a CUETE using Mode 1 at Address 1 occupies:

Channels 1–29

The compact Theatrical personalities provide simpler control, while Mode 1 exposes the broader fixture implementation.

Exact DMX channel-value ranges are not included unless separately validated against the complete personality implementation.

Implemented Functions

The CUETE implementation includes:

  • Pan and Tilt
  • Smooth movement
  • Dimmer
  • Shutter / Strobe
  • Colour control
  • Fixed Gobos
  • Rotating Gobos
  • Gobo projection
  • Gobo movement effects
  • Prism
  • Prism effects
  • Frost
  • Zoom
  • Focus
  • Projected patterns
  • Fixture-specific effect functions

CUETE is primarily implemented as a compact beam/effect fixture for aerial and projected lighting effects.

Fixture Configuration

Interact with the CUETE using an empty hand to open its physical fixture display.

The common TRP fixture interface allows configuration of:

  • Theatrical Network
  • DMX Universe
  • DMX Start Address
  • Fixture Mode
  • Lamp Mode
  • Display Brightness
  • Display Enabled / Disabled
  • Pan Invert
  • Tilt Invert
  • Pan / Tilt Reset
  • All Reset

Available Lamp Modes are:

  • Standard
  • Quiet
  • Power

The physical display can also represent operational states such as:

RESET

PLEASE WAIT

NO DMX

When the fixture belongs to a Theatrical Network, configuration access respects that network’s membership and permissions.

Custom Gobos

CUETE supports TRP’s Custom Gobo Service system.

Its serviceable gobo inventories contain:

  • 10 Static Gobo slots
  • 9 Rotating Gobo slots

New CUETE fixtures initialise their serviceable wheels using the factory layouts defined by TRP.

Use the Gobo Service Screwdriver on the fixture to open its wheel-management interface.

From there, individual gobo positions can be inspected, replaced or removed.

Factory Gobos

Factory gobo items are accepted only when the selected wheel contains that design in its compatible factory texture library.

Custom Gobos

Player-created engraved Custom Gobos can be installed in compatible serviceable wheel positions without being restricted to the CUETE factory artwork library.

Removing an installed gobo returns its item to the player.

The configured wheel contents are stored persistently with the fixture.

Focus Tool

CUETE is compatible with the Focus Tool.

This allows one or multiple CUETE fixtures to be selected and aimed together using TRP’s multi-fixture focusing workflow.

Point Mode

All selected fixtures are aimed towards one selected position in the Minecraft world.

Two-Point Span Mode

The first selected position defines the beginning of a span and the second defines its end.

TRP spatially sorts the selected fixtures and distributes their aim points evenly between those positions.

The Focus Tool also provides:

  • Auto Focus
  • Auto Zoom
  • Output Assist
  • Manual Focus
  • Manual Zoom
  • Manual Intensity

Up to 32 compatible fixtures can be stored by the Focus Tool at once.

RoboSpot & FollowMe

CUETE is not currently compatible with:

  • RoboSpot
  • FollowMe

These systems are only enabled for explicitly supported fixture models.

CUETE can still be aimed using normal DMX control or the Focus Tool.

Flight Cases

There is currently no dedicated CUETE flight case implemented in TRP.

Only fixture models with explicitly implemented matching flight cases can use the dedicated TRP flight-case storage system.

Rigging & Mounting

CUETE can be mounted on compatible TRP and recognised rigging structures.

Supported systems include:

  • TRP F34 truss
  • Theatrical truss
  • Theatrical rigging pipes
  • Recognised Theatrical Extra Lights structures
  • Recognised SEF quad-truss variants

TRP’s F34 system supports appropriate:

  • Top mounting
  • Bottom mounting
  • Side / rail mounting
  • Compatible fixture orientations

CUETE also supports the Truss Mount Tool.

On compatible horizontal F34 side mounts, the physical fixture angle can be adjusted from:

0° → 120°

in:

15° increments

This adjusts the physical mounting orientation and is separate from DMX Pan and Tilt.

Known Limitations

  • RoboSpot is not supported.
  • FollowMe is not supported.
  • No dedicated CUETE flight case is currently available.
  • Exact DMX channel-value ranges are not included unless separately validated against the implementation.
  • Factory gobos are restricted to compatible wheel libraries when using the Gobo Service system.
  • Complex beam, prism and projected-gobo effects can increase rendering load when many fixtures are active simultaneously.
