FORTE

The ROBE FORTE is a high-performance moving profile fixture implemented in Theatrical: Realistic Pack (TRP).
Its TRP implementation combines advanced colour and projection systems with two serviceable gobo wheels, framing, iris, prism and effect functions, while also supporting TRP’s RoboSpot, FollowMe, Focus Tool and functional flight-case systems.

FORTE is one of the most extensively integrated fixtures in TRP, supporting the main focusing, tracking, remote-followspot and custom-gobo systems alongside its fixture-specific optical functionality.
DMX Modes
The FORTE currently includes the following TRP personalities:
| Mode | Channels |
|---|---|
| Theatrical | 7 |
| Mode 1: Standard 16-bit | 54 |
| Mode 2: Enhanced Gobo | 56 |
| Theatrical Gobos | 10 |
The selected personality determines the fixture’s available control functions and total DMX footprint.
Mode 1: Standard 16-bit provides the main detailed FORTE personality.
Mode 2: Enhanced Gobo expands the personality with additional gobo-related functionality.
The compact Theatrical y el Theatrical Gobos personalities are intended for simpler control scenarios.
Exact DMX value ranges should only be documented once the complete personality has been separately validated.
Implemented Functions
The FORTE implementation includes:
- Pan and Tilt
- Smooth movement
- Dimmer
- Shutter / Strobe
- Colour control
- Colour correction
- Static / serviceable gobo functionality
- Rotating Gobos
- Gobo indexing
- Gobo rotation
- Gobo effects
- Focus
- Zoom
- Frost
- Prism
- Prism / effect functionality
- Iris
- Framing Shutters
- Framing-related controls
- Remote followspot integration
- Automatic tracking support
- Fixture-specific special functions
FORTE is implemented as a detailed moving-profile fixture rather than a simplified generic moving head.
Fixture Configuration
Interact with the FORTE using an empty hand to open its physical fixture display.
The common TRP fixture interface allows configuration of:
- Theatrical Network
- DMX Universe
- DMX Start Address
- Fixture Mode
- Lamp Mode
- Display Brightness
- Display Enabled / Disabled
- Pan Invert
- Tilt Invert
- Pan / Tilt Reset
- All Reset
Available Lamp Modes are:
- Standard
- Quiet
- Power
The physical display can also represent operational states such as:
RESET
PLEASE WAIT
NO DMX
When the fixture belongs to a Theatrical Network, configuration access respects that network’s membership and permissions.
Custom Gobos
FORTE supports the TRP Custom Gobo Service system.
The fixture contains two serviceable gobo wheels:

- Gobo Wheel 1 — 6 slots
- Gobo Wheel 2 — 6 slots
This provides a total of 12 serviceable gobo positions across both wheels.
Use the Gobo Service Screwdriver on the fixture to open the wheel-management interface.
From there, compatible gobos can be installed, replaced or removed from individual wheel positions.
Factory gobos are restricted according to the compatible artwork library for each wheel, while player-created engraved Custom Gobos can be installed in compatible serviceable positions without being tied to a specific manufacturer’s factory artwork.
Removing a gobo returns its item to the player.
Gobo-wheel contents are stored as persistent fixture data.
Focus Tool
FORTE is fully compatible with the Focus Tool.
Multiple FORTE fixtures can be selected and aimed together using TRP’s multi-fixture focusing system.
Point Mode
All selected fixtures are aimed towards one selected point in the Minecraft world.
Two-Point Span Mode
Two world positions define a span.
The selected fixtures are spatially sorted and distributed across that line, allowing multiple fixtures to be focused efficiently across a stage, performance area or other target.
The Focus Tool also provides:
- Auto Focus
- Auto Zoom
- Output Assist
- Manual Focus
- Manual Zoom
- Manual Intensity
The tool can store up to 32 fixture targets at once.
RoboSpot
FORTE is compatible with TRP RoboSpot.
A RoboSpot station can bind a FORTE as one of its remotely operated fixtures and provide a live camera view from the fixture’s position.
RoboSpot can control supported FORTE functions including movement and several optical parameters through its dedicated operator interface.
The overall RoboSpot system supports:
- Live fixture camera
- Pan and Tilt control
- Fine movement
- Dimmer
- Shutter / Strobe
- Zoom
- Focus
- Iris
- Frost
- Colour
- Gobo control
- Gobo rotation
- Framing-system rotation
- Framing blades
- Position / control presets
- Fixture groups
- Per-fixture calibration
One RoboSpot station can bind up to 12 compatible fixtures.
The exact effect of each RoboSpot control still depends on the functions implemented by the selected fixture.
FollowMe
FORTE is also compatible with FollowMe.
FollowMe allows the fixture to automatically aim towards:
- A player
- Another living entity
A configured FollowMe Tracker can control up to 12 compatible fixtures.
The system can automatically handle:
- Pan / Tilt tracking
- Auto Focus
- Auto Zoom
Auto Focus and Auto Zoom can also be disabled individually when another control source should retain control over those parameters.
This allows FORTE to be used for automatic followspot-style tracking as well as manual operation through RoboSpot.
Flight Cases
FORTE has two dedicated functional flight cases:

- FORTE ×1
- FORTE ×2
These cases support:
- Animated opening and closing
- Dedicated opening / closing sounds
- Loading matching FORTE fixtures
- Storage according to case capacity
- Unloading fixtures
- Conversion into a movable case
- Player grabbing / pushing
- Placement back into the world
Only matching FORTE fixtures can be loaded into these cases.
Important: Flight cases store fixture type and quantity rather than a complete independent NBT record for every fixture stored inside.
Individual patch, configuration or installed-gobo data should therefore not be assumed to survive storage inside a flight case.
Rigging & Mounting
The FORTE can be mounted on compatible TRP and recognised rigging structures.

Supported systems include:
- TRP F34 truss
- Theatrical truss
- Theatrical rigging pipes
- Recognised Theatrical Extra Lights structures
- Recognised SEF quad-truss variants
TRP F34 supports appropriate:
- Top mounting
- Bottom mounting
- Side / rail mounting
- Upright placement on the F34 Top Plate
Fixture orientation and mounting hardware respond to the selected mounting position.
FORTE also supports the Truss Mount Tool.
On compatible horizontal F34 side mounts, the physical fixture angle can be adjusted from:
0° → 120°
in:
15° increments
This modifies the physical rigging orientation and is independent of DMX Pan and Tilt.
Known Limitations
- Flight-case storage does not preserve complete individual fixture NBT.
- RoboSpot availability does not mean every RoboSpot interface control necessarily affects every optical function in exactly the same way.
- FollowMe requires the fixture to be loaded and correctly addressed before tracking can be applied.
- Exact manufacturer-style DMX value ranges are not documented here unless separately validated.
- Changes to fixture personalities in future TRP versions may require existing patches to be reviewed.
